3 August A Diary Entry (purely imaginary yet real)

It was a wonderful moment when I realised that I am in love. It was such a nice feeling that I had started liking someone with my life. I had even started thinking about my lovely life with my sweetheart. I wasn't living in this world from then on. It was a dreamland, a wonderful place where there was me my sweetheart and lots n lots of happiness. I hadn't expressed myself in front of her, but I was pretty sure that she also had the feelings towards me. We just knew somehow that each one of us couldn't live without the other. Our bonds of love were based on trust, something without which there is no love.

But hold a second. Did I just say TRUST. I wonder what it is that my parents have on me. My parents also love me. They believe in me and only hence could send me this far to study. My father toils hard day and night so that I can sleep comfortably here in my hostel.What I am doing.. Is it right? Am I not breaking the trust they have on me? Am I not supposed to think of them before thinking about anyone else (at least now)? I think I shouldn't tell her now. Sorry sweetheart... you will have to wait. I am bound to keep my feelings to myself. I hope you can understand. If you love me I know you will.

13 July It was actually simple. It was me who didn't see

I had a Transcend JFV10 4GB pen drive which I got free with my first Compaq Laptop. My father uses the laptop and I use the pen drive I was very fond of the drive. Its design its white color.. I liked it very much. Accidentally it was lost when I gave it to my seniors when they needed it last semester.My seniors gave me a similar pen drive (may be they felt responsible for the lose of my pen drive, such nice seniors ain't they!!! ). The second looked the same as the first, except that it had a problem. It had some stupid file in it which couldn't be deleted and I couldn't format the drive. No file could be copied on to it. So though I had a drive I couldn't use it.

I tried to repair it. Don't remember how many softwares I used...Number of google searched... threads in different forums...random softwares from the internet to remove write protection, recover pendrive... the list goes on and on.  Six months or may be even more.... no results.. I recently gave it to a batch-mate here... he also seems to have tried hard to repair the drive... but no luck...He was saying we need to do some "delete volume" thing like how we do before formatting the OS on desktops and laptops.
Then finally today (which seems to be lucky for me) I gave it a try. I went to the transcend company's website and checked for a recovery software ...gave the details of my drive...installed a software..ran it... and clicked on a few OKs ...i think just 2 or 3... and tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.... it was done.Didn't take even a minute That stupid file was removed... my pen drive formatted and on opening it looked as good as new (hahaha it will look like that after every format obviously). I remember trying the same software at home also but it didn't work at that time.... but as I said may be this day is lucky for me.
Soooooooooo what I would suggest to all those who have problems with their pen drives is to go to website of their respective company and try something like that online recovery tool first and then if it doesn't work then I can say only one thing ... Good luck

7th July an eMail I got (a forward worth reading and remembering too)

I have been a little busy during the last week. Couldn't write anything for the blog. Today I read an e-mail and felt it is worth sharing here. Read on.. it is very nice ... I am sure you'll like it

1st July Darling... I would love to come here with u once

It so happened that I went to the railway station of Surathkal the other day. I am going to Shirdi in this month with my parents for the Darshan of Lord Sai Baba. I told my father that I would get my tickets myself and so for that I (of course due to my laziness :D ) went to surathkal instead of Mangalore railway station. 

It had drizzled till then and though it was just 2 o'clock in the afternoon it was cold. I got down at the usual market stop of surathkal below the fly over (which is under construction for the past two years :D and I have no idea how long it will take. Actually I don't even know which places it connects). I had checked out the google maps to figure out the route to which I had to take to reach the Railway Station.

I stopped by at a bakery and bought myself two cream rolls and a 7up can (as usual ... lose control on seeing a bakery :D ), confirmed from the keeper of the bakery that the station is at a walkable distance and moved ahead. He had told me that a board showing the direction of the Station would be visible. I finally located it (by that time I had already finished the two cream rolls :P ) and walked in the direction it showed.It was as if I was walking into some colony. I was wondering how there could be a railway station in a place like that. I kept walking and as I reached to what appeared to be the end of the street I saw it " The Surathkal Railway Station". An old building which on first look appeared as if it was the place where postal luggages etc are kept in the railway station. But then I had read the name on the wall which clarified my doubt. It reminded me of railway station of the place Akaltara (in Chattisgarh) where we used to stay during my childhood.

I don't know why but I like places such as these. Silent. Surrounded by nature yet not away from civilization. To add to all that was the pleasant climate. Moreover I like small railway stations very much. Not very crowded. Few trains come as if they have come from a long way just to come and see if everything in the village is going on fine. Many a times these trains carry with them hope and confidence of the village too. But may be I am too young to explain things like that. We leave it for future :D

25 June NetBeans

Today morning I came online signed into my blog and just signed because I had nothing which I wanted to write at that time.Now it is time I go to sleep and as I was packing up I was recollecting what I have been doing for some time and BINGO I found my today's blog content. Java and NetBeans.
I was trying (not very seriously) to learn Adobe Flash for the past two days and today I just changed my mind and decided to try something different. I always had Java in my mind for my work and finally today probably the "Muhurtham" (can be called as Sacred Timing :D I don't know the correct translation) was good...I took out a DVD in which I had a few ebooks on Java and picked probably simplest one book "learn Java in 21 days" read the content of Day 1 and was feeling good that I finally started it. The book said that there are a few things to be downloaded. I went to the Java website referred a few things and started the download of a JDK (Java Development Kernel) with NetBeans 6.9 and after the installation I found it was awesome... I am referring to the GUI of the IDE... I read a getting started with GUI article in the NetBeans website and could simultaneously design an application for adding numbers. This may appear childish to the "Pro"s of Programming but for me ... it feels great.
Hope I will be able to work explore and learn more about Java and NetBeans tomorrow. If you are interested in programming and like designing applications then I suggest you should definitely try Java. It is simple, it is useful and (the best part) it is free.That's all for now.

23 June Its not my fault if I fell in Love

I had a feeling, when I was writing my previous entry, that I wouldn't be able to write blog for sometime and same thing happened...Its raining here in surathkal as usual. You know what I think it is not the fault of the person who is here in surathkal if he/she falls in Love with someone. The atmosphere is so romantic that anybody will just remember the one's close to him/her and who knows 'kab pyaar ho jaye'... lol...may be a little filmy to say but it really feels to be like that (atleast for me). So for my safety I should clearly state that it is not my fault if I just slide or land or fall in love :D with someone.... hahaha
As I type I am listening to the Naruto theme song, which obviously is awesome. If you get a chance do watch the first 10 episodes of Naruto and I am sure you won't stop until you have watched all of them. Hope all UG students are enjoying your holidays.

21 June Anime

Couldn't make time to blog yesterday night. Was just watching naruto :) I like cartoons very much especially when they have a story. Dragonball Z, Full Metal Alchemist, Deathnote and of course Naruto. I never thought I would like naruto sooo much.No doubt it is the number one anime being watched. Sometimes I feel animes, more than any other thing, inspire us to work hard and be good.

I see some great similarities between these anime. It might just be a coincidence but it so happens that there will always be two characters both of which are given equal importance and one of them plays a negative role for sometime. I am talking about pairs like naruto and sasuke from naruto , goku and vegeta from dragonballz, tyson and kai from beyblade. and all these stories say that they workhard to improve their skills and all is just about one thing ... to become the best. let it be number one beyblader or greatest fighter/ saiyan or the best ninja in the world. Of course the story is totally different from one another but still u can see some anomalies. Whatever it may be they are too good and definitely worth watching.
