16 September Yappy Yappy Barthadei

Had a wonderful day with all people wishing me on my birthday. Great fun which started with a grand GPL from my "wing-mates" at 12 and a yummy cake cutting. So many phone calls (may be the highest I received ever) and wishes most of them from people whom I hadn't even expected. Everybody ask me what are your plans for the day and I reply to them "seminar at 8 exam at 11 and assignment submission at 4".. hahahaha... fifth sem on its peak with with my two audit courses and mid-sems from monday.... but I forgot all those things today...with all my friends calling up to wish me.. many of those with whom I wasn't in touch for a very long time. nearly 50 odd notifications filling up my gmail inbox saying "facebook notification : someone posted on your wall".  Well that's a huge number for me... great thanks to all NITKians...and thanks to you all my old pure gold friends. thanks for all your wishes. thanks for making my day wonderful and memorable.

P.S. If i am not wrong I will be getting a gult special GPL before it strikes 12... U C you feel so happy and joyous that it never pains :P

9 September Friends...

I wasn't with them for a long time. Never used to talk so much with them. Randomly say a hi or a hello when we see each other and then just move on. Neither they nor me had any idea that we guys will gel together so much. May be it is true that time and situation brings people together. Whatever be the reasons we stay nearby nowadays. We all have so much fun.

I keep bulbing many times when they are talking. I may not actually be their kind of guy. Our thoughts also may not match so much. At times I express myself in one way and they understand it a little differently. Sometimes they may not even make an effort to understand me thinking that I am talking something lame. But still I like their company. They are all so nice guys, chilled out, cool yet some high-level PROs, one field or the other, all of them... chotu ( or bhavandar, as what he is called by some others) ... servo... sup... srk... dakota... gspot... nd...vsingh bayaan... dishwash... always united...helping each other... let it be for some assignment or for surpassing their own levels. Thanks to God and my fate that I got to stay with these guys and gather a lot of happy memories for my future. That is all for now... Will write some more later. but for now we all need to get ready for dishwash's birthday blast :P...Many happy returns of the day dude...

7 September Sorry I can't help you.

Many times in life people face situations where they have two options. I am not talking about those painful situations where you have to choose one option to lose another. I am talking of those situations where you are the Boss. You don't lose anything (may be except some things like time) by choosing any of those options. May be one path satisfies just your requirement and taking the other path helps a few others also at the cost of a little of your time, money and strength (or energy whatever you may call it as).

If you think of taking the second path then I appreciate your thought. If not then I would suggest you to rethink. Sometimes it is good to think of others. Actually sometimes you feel better even when you are losing something but you see the smiles of those thankful faces whom you just helped. I am not asking you to forget yourself but I am asking you to remember about the needy at least once in some time.

We see lot of people starting business, settling down in foreign nations, earning lots of money one way or the other. Can't those people spend some of their time and money on those who need support to live a happy life. Why should a child walk barefoot to a construction site to lift bricks when another child of the same age is going to school probably to become the project manager of many such constructions in coming future. I don't call for international syllabus or air conditioned classrooms. I just ask for the development of the condition of the municipal school. I don't say triple bedroom flat for everyone. I just want everyone to get some shelter which they can keep clean to stay healthy and safe. 

If you like the idea then do something when you get a chance.If you want to argue with me may be I can spend sometime convincing you even after that if you think I am demanding too much then sorry I can't help you.

3 August A Diary Entry (purely imaginary yet real)

It was a wonderful moment when I realised that I am in love. It was such a nice feeling that I had started liking someone with my life. I had even started thinking about my lovely life with my sweetheart. I wasn't living in this world from then on. It was a dreamland, a wonderful place where there was me my sweetheart and lots n lots of happiness. I hadn't expressed myself in front of her, but I was pretty sure that she also had the feelings towards me. We just knew somehow that each one of us couldn't live without the other. Our bonds of love were based on trust, something without which there is no love.

But hold a second. Did I just say TRUST. I wonder what it is that my parents have on me. My parents also love me. They believe in me and only hence could send me this far to study. My father toils hard day and night so that I can sleep comfortably here in my hostel.What I am doing.. Is it right? Am I not breaking the trust they have on me? Am I not supposed to think of them before thinking about anyone else (at least now)? I think I shouldn't tell her now. Sorry sweetheart... you will have to wait. I am bound to keep my feelings to myself. I hope you can understand. If you love me I know you will.

13 July It was actually simple. It was me who didn't see

I had a Transcend JFV10 4GB pen drive which I got free with my first Compaq Laptop. My father uses the laptop and I use the pen drive I was very fond of the drive. Its design its white color.. I liked it very much. Accidentally it was lost when I gave it to my seniors when they needed it last semester.My seniors gave me a similar pen drive (may be they felt responsible for the lose of my pen drive, such nice seniors ain't they!!! ). The second looked the same as the first, except that it had a problem. It had some stupid file in it which couldn't be deleted and I couldn't format the drive. No file could be copied on to it. So though I had a drive I couldn't use it.

I tried to repair it. Don't remember how many softwares I used...Number of google searched... threads in different forums...random softwares from the internet to remove write protection, recover pendrive... the list goes on and on.  Six months or may be even more.... no results.. I recently gave it to a batch-mate here... he also seems to have tried hard to repair the drive... but no luck...He was saying we need to do some "delete volume" thing like how we do before formatting the OS on desktops and laptops.
Then finally today (which seems to be lucky for me) I gave it a try. I went to the transcend company's website and checked for a recovery software ...gave the details of my drive...installed a software..ran it... and clicked on a few OKs ...i think just 2 or 3... and tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.... it was done.Didn't take even a minute That stupid file was removed... my pen drive formatted and on opening it looked as good as new (hahaha it will look like that after every format obviously). I remember trying the same software at home also but it didn't work at that time.... but as I said may be this day is lucky for me.
Soooooooooo what I would suggest to all those who have problems with their pen drives is to go to website of their respective company and try something like that online recovery tool first and then if it doesn't work then I can say only one thing ... Good luck

1st July Darling... I would love to come here with u once

It so happened that I went to the railway station of Surathkal the other day. I am going to Shirdi in this month with my parents for the Darshan of Lord Sai Baba. I told my father that I would get my tickets myself and so for that I (of course due to my laziness :D ) went to surathkal instead of Mangalore railway station. 

It had drizzled till then and though it was just 2 o'clock in the afternoon it was cold. I got down at the usual market stop of surathkal below the fly over (which is under construction for the past two years :D and I have no idea how long it will take. Actually I don't even know which places it connects). I had checked out the google maps to figure out the route to which I had to take to reach the Railway Station.

I stopped by at a bakery and bought myself two cream rolls and a 7up can (as usual ... lose control on seeing a bakery :D ), confirmed from the keeper of the bakery that the station is at a walkable distance and moved ahead. He had told me that a board showing the direction of the Station would be visible. I finally located it (by that time I had already finished the two cream rolls :P ) and walked in the direction it showed.It was as if I was walking into some colony. I was wondering how there could be a railway station in a place like that. I kept walking and as I reached to what appeared to be the end of the street I saw it " The Surathkal Railway Station". An old building which on first look appeared as if it was the place where postal luggages etc are kept in the railway station. But then I had read the name on the wall which clarified my doubt. It reminded me of railway station of the place Akaltara (in Chattisgarh) where we used to stay during my childhood.

I don't know why but I like places such as these. Silent. Surrounded by nature yet not away from civilization. To add to all that was the pleasant climate. Moreover I like small railway stations very much. Not very crowded. Few trains come as if they have come from a long way just to come and see if everything in the village is going on fine. Many a times these trains carry with them hope and confidence of the village too. But may be I am too young to explain things like that. We leave it for future :D
